GARETH MAYBIN, ROUND ONE 65 (-6 ) – TANJONG COURSE
Q. Good finish at Valderrama recently and a good start today, you must be feeling good about your game?
A. I am actually but to be honest although I shot six under today I didn’t actually play that well. I know that if I drive the ball tomorrow on the Serapong Course the way I did today here at Tanjong, I will not shoot six under, I promise you that so I have a bit of work to do on the range now and I feel a bit fortunate to have shot 65 today.
Q. Did you play Tanjong blind or had you had a look at it before today?
A. I got a practice round in on Monday and I knew then that that was the course I needed to post a score on because the other one is very very tricky. But I’m pleased with six under. Any time you shoot that regardless of what the course is like, you have to be pleased. Tomorrow will be a very late start for me, if I get to start at all because I think there are more thunderstorms forecast.
Q. How do you feel about the two courses?
A. Night and day really. That course I played today was right up my street, tomorrow is going to be a different ball game but I will just go out and try and shoot the best score I possibly can.
